Two major topics emerge from his interview: his childhood under the blows and his homosexuality, which he does not name. In an extract unveiled on the account Twitter of the show, we then discover Stéphane Bern, very moved by his own confidences. “Your mother wanted you to be perfect, she was very demanding …“, asks Audrey Crespo-Mara.”Yes, my mother was brought up by a Prussian father, answers the host of France 2 and history buff. I can tell you it had to be perfection“. He adds, stammering:”My mother was a translator and interpreter, she spoke English, German, Russian and Italian perfectly. Rare confidences about his homosexuality
And to qualify: “I adored my mother, so far. You are in a very interesting psychoanalytic situation. You love your executioner. And at the same time, I never blamed her because she gave me a lot of love and tenderness too.“It is difficult for Stéphane Bern to confide in his private life, he who has long been interested in that of others. it is with great emotion that he commented on his mother’s disappearance. “She is with me every day. My dead live with me (…) I live with my Pantheon. They guide you and give you a strength you never imagined“, he confided while wiping his tears.
Today in a relationship with Yori Bailleres, a French entrepreneur, Stéphane Bern has not always shown everyone his private life. And even less in front of those of his mother. “She always said to me: ‘You will do what you want after me ‘, and so yes, I do what I want. I never wanted to shock her, I made sure thatshe is not too confronted with things in my life, personal things“, then tells the host on TF1. And to conclude: “She said ‘I’d rather not talk about it’, But, she knew, mothers always know.“
His taste for great times and crowned heads comes to him from his childhood when he wanted to escape the reality of a family he was convinced was not his.
