I thought the reviews were unfair but there were plenty of flaws and this was my first meeting“, she concluded.

She doesn’t let go. For Valérie Pécresse, this first meeting was not a total failure. Indeed, it assures that, when one “stumbles, one can stay down or reveal oneself. And when you want to preside over France, you have to have the ability to do it and to ride a horse“. Thus, only four days after this first meeting, she went to Le Canet, in front of “3,000 people. I did it without speech, without notes and with my words“, she recalled. A moment that was very beneficial for her. “I felt like I was back on the horse and I found my style“, she assured before adding: “The problem with these presidential elections is that the armor has to be split. Mine is thick because I have a family, I took a lot of blows in political life, I had to protect him so I put on armor and at some point, you have to open it“. According to her words, if “splitting the armor” was not obvious for her, it is in particular because “those who have more experience than me, who have already done campaigns, they know that the armor must be split and there, I don’t have much time left, there are 3 weeks left and that’s why I’m here“, she concluded.

Valérie Pécresse: had she already mentioned her meeting?

This meeting marked Valérie Pécresse a lot, who did not hesitate to let it be known. In the columns of Midi Libre on March 19, she first said: “I had a failed meeting at the Zenith. I regret“. Subsequently, she clarified: “But we hijacked what I wanted to say. I wanted to say that I am resigned neither to the great downgrading with Macron, nor to the great replacement with Zemmour, that there was a third way, that of the Republican right.“. However, the presidential candidate does not want to let go: “But a failed meeting does not erase twenty years of political commitment, it does not change a political identity“, she had concluded.
