Actor Jason Segel, interpreter of Marshall Erikson in “How I Met Your Mother”, returned to his feelings during the filming of the last seasons of the cult comedy.
Is How I Met Your Mother a boring series? His many fans will be able to tell you the opposite, but for Jason Segel, the interpreter of Marshall Eriksen, this was obviously the case. At least from a certain point.
In the pages of The Independentthis star of the series returned to the last years of filming the series, which he then chained with roles in the cinema:
It was three difficult years, I really needed to take stock artistically, and it was only my responsibility. The series was fantastic. Doing romantic comedies is fantastic. But I was really getting bored of my own work. And it’s not pleasant to feel.
How I Met Your Mother left off in 2014 and for the past three years Segel has appeared in 5 Years of Reflection, 40 Years: A User’s Guide and Sex Tape, all comedies (sometimes romantic and bittersweet).

Despite his disinterest in acting, the comedian still remained loyal to the show’s creators and would be willing to reprise his character as Marshall in the show’s spin-off, How I Met Your Father, which is currently in its second season:

A way for the actor to be grateful for the nine seasons of the show which revealed him, and which ultimately brought him nearly $225,000 per episode, or about $5 million in one year. Since the end of the series, Segel shot for independent film and production.
Most recently, he made his big comeback with a supporting role in Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty and Shrinking, a comedy broadcast on AppleTV+ in which he stars.
