The month of May is almost always synonymous with cinema in France. Indeed, the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival opened its doors on May 16th. The opportunity for one of the greatest actors and directors of French cinema, Guillaume Canet, to reveal his worst memory of the Croisette.

Between Leonardo Dicaprio and Robert De Niro who came together to defend the latest Martin Scorsese, or even the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence who surprised the Croisette by showing up on the red carpet in a flip-flop, this edition got off to a flying start. This Sunday, May 21, actor and director Guillaume Canet walked the steps of the Palais des Festivals to present a film out of competition, Acid by Just Philippot.
A presence on the long-awaited Croisette like that of his companion Marion Cotillard who dazzled the photographers a few hours earlier, wearing only a suit jacket without pants. The opportunity for the 50-year-old actor to answer questions from the Sunday newspaper and so reveal his worst memory of the Croisette of which it still retains a bitter taste today.

A bad memory that was not one at the base

A misadventure which fortunately will not have demotivated Guillaume Canet in his career as a director.
