This 24-year-old young woman had rented accommodation in the City of a Hundred Bells via Airbnb to enjoy a moment with friends and with her companion, on Saturday December 10. Only, waking up in the night, she wondered about an alarm clock placed on a shelf and in which she thought she saw “a small goal” hidden behind the screen. “I woke up my boyfriend who took the alarm clock apart. And there was a camera in it with an integrated SD card” she explains for news.fr. It was then that the two tenants decided to search the room to finally discover a similar device in a USB power strip.
Larissa Angaman says that they left the accommodation the next day, around 11 a.m., taking with them the alarm clock and the power strip to analyze both SD cards. “There were pictures of me in the showerof my friends going in the toilet ! It’s horrible !” reports the still terrified young woman, before adding: “I think about it all the time since, I even dream about it! It’s stressful! I don’t know if these cameras are connected in wifi and if he can watch them in real time? What did this pervert do if he watched these videos? I feel dirty“.
Larissa Angaman feels that she has been “raped” in his intimacy and therefore decided to lodge a complaint from Sunday 11 December at the Dieppe police station for “invasion of privacy by fixing, recording or transmitting a person’s image”.

Airbnb reacts and suspends the host’s account
Inevitably, the housing rental site quickly spoke on the subject. Our colleagues relay that he has “immediately suspend the host’s account” : “We enforce strict policies regarding the use of any type of monitoring device within the accommodations rented on our platform and take firm measures against anyone who breaks its rules“.
