Ian Gelder had cancer

He wrote about a shared selfie in front of the Christmas tree: “It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I leave this post to announce the death of my beloved husband and life partner Ian Gelder.” Gelder was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in December and closed his eyes forever on May 6th at 1:07 p.m.

“None of us had any idea that it would all happen so quickly. He was my absolute rock and we had been partners for more than 30 years. When we weren’t together, we spoke every day. He was the kindest, most generous and most loving person. He was a wonderful, wonderful actor and everyone who worked with him was touched by his heart and his light,” Daniels continued.

“I honestly don’t know what I’ll do without him by my side. He faced his terrible illness with great courage and without self-pity. Always. He was remarkable and we will miss him greatly.”
