IBM: agreement with Honda in future vehicles

(CercleFinance.com) – IBM announced on Wednesday the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Honda with a view to developing a research project on software-defined vehicles.

In a press release, the two groups say they want to collaborate, with a long-term perspective, on the design of semiconductors and technologies likely to equip these cars of the future.

IBM and Honda explain that the growing use of AI expected by 2030 and beyond will complicate vehicle development and require improved capabilities at the chip level.

The MoU intends to focus on a few areas considered key, namely specialized semiconductors, brain-inspired computing and high-bandwidth, low-latency connectors. chiplets’).
