(CercleFinance.com) – IBM announced Tuesday its intention to build a new data center specializing in quantum computing in Germany, the first of its kind on the European continent.
The site, which should be commissioned next year, will use several quantum computing systems developed by the American group, all equipped with processors of more than 100 qubits.
IBM explains that this center should allow it to face the growing ecosystem of quantum technologies in Europe, a region which according to him has some of the most advanced users of supercomputers.
It will enable private companies, research institutes and administrations to support their activities in quantum computing.
Based in Ehningen, within existing IBM facilities, the site will be the group’s second data center specializing in quantum computing after the one opened in Poughkeepsie (New York).
