Icade: accelerating its low-carbon ambition

Very committed since 2010 to the fight against climate change and the reduction of the carbon footprint of its assets, Icade announced in early 2022 a further acceleration of its low-carbon trajectory with reinforced objectives aligned with a 1.5C trajectory. Icade is also maintaining its ambitious objectives in terms of preserving biodiversity. All of these elements were the subject of a Say on Climate and Biodiversity resolution which was approved by 99.3% at the General Assembly. This resolution will henceforth be proposed every year.

This new acceleration of its low-carbon ambition is reflected in particular in reinforced objectives for its 3 business lines and corporate. The real estate group plans a reduction in carbon intensity between 2019 and 2030 (in kg CO2/m2) of 60% for Tertiary Property, 37% for Health Property and 41% for Property Development. It also aims to reduce corporate carbon emissions by 30% between 2019 and 2030 (in tCO2/year).

It also displays a Net-Zero ambition in 2050 resulting in a reduction of more than 90% of Icade’s greenhouse gas emissions (in absolute value) between 2019 and 2050, and in the offsetting of residual emissions.

A 2022-2026 investment plan of 150 million euros is planned to support this ambition.

Icade has also confirmed its ambitious strategy in favor of the preservation of biodiversity with strong commitments and concrete results: 100% of business parks and 46% of new constructions are in positive biodiversity in 2021 and more than 170,000 m2 of he natural spaces have been restored and maintained thanks to the contribution of Icade since 2016.
