“Ice Cold Angels” becomes a series
Do new faces meet old stars?

The film and series remake craze continues. The teen drama “Eiskalte Engel” is also getting a new edition. Who are the new cast members?
In recent years, Hollywood and the streaming services have increasingly relied on new versions of well-known films and series. Amazon doesn’t stop at “Ice Cold Angels”. The teen drama based on the classic novel “Dangerous Liaisons” is to be implemented as a series. The first actors and actresses are now apparently certain.
Who’s in?
Sarah Michelle Gellar (46) cemented 1999 – after appearances as Buffy Summers in the acclaimed series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and as Helen Shivers in the teen slasher “I Know What You Did Last Summer” – with “Cruel Intentions ” her role in productions aimed in particular at teenagers and young adults. The passionate game of intrigue alongside Ryan Phillippe (48), Selma Blair (50) and Reese Witherspoon (47) will have to do without Gellar in its series version. In April, she declared “Variety”that she is not involved in the new production.
It is currently unknown whether Witherspoon, Blair or Phillippe, who played Gellar’s stepbrother, will appear. The US industry magazine wants from several anonymous sources but have already found out which actors will be seen. According to a recent report, the main cast includes actresses and actors who are still relatively unknown, such as Sarah Catherine Hook (28), Zac Burgess, Khobe Clarke, Brooke Lena Johnson, Sara Silva, John Harlan Kim (30) and Myra Molloy (25).
There should at least be a reunion: Sean Patrick Thomas (52), who then embodied Ronald Clifford, will take on the role of a professor. Already known guest stars apparently include Laura Benanti (43) and Jon Tenney (61). Amazon has not wanted to comment on all of this.
What “Ice Cold Angels” is about
Like the film, the new “Ice Cold Angels” series is set in the modern age. According to the report, it is once again about a ruthless step-sibling couple who, this time, want to do whatever it takes to retain their power at an elite college in Washington, DC. Supposedly they will try to seduce the daughter of the Vice President of the United States.
Eight episodes are initially planned. It is unclear whether these should be shown regularly on Amazon Prime Video or via the free offer Freevee.
