Comedian and actor Anthony Johnson has died. “Friday” co-star Ice Cube says goodbye on Twitter.

Ice Cube (52) mourns the loss of Anthony “AJ” Johnson. The comedian and actor has died at the age of 55, as his spokeswoman confirmed to the “Hollywood Reporter”. Johnson was best known for his role as Ezal in the film series “Friday”, in which rapper Ice Cube and fellow actor Chris Tucker (50) played the leading roles from 1995 onwards. Ice Cube has turned on twitter voiced on the costar’s death.

“Sad to wake up to the news of AJ Johnson’s death. He was a funny guy who was right out of Compton at the same time,” the rapper explained, adding, “I’m sorry to see your character Ezal in ‘Last Friday’ couldn’t bring it back to the big screen. ” Ice Cube alluded to the fourth part of the film series, which was announced for 2015 but was never realized.

Anthony Johnson was also known for his roles in “House Party”, “Lethal Weapon 3” and “Menace II Society”. He leaves behind his wife, three children and his brother.
