ICE Hockey League – VSV continues strong start to the season, KAC celebrates

VSV also clearly won its third game of the season in the ICE League. Villach, who are currently celebrating the 100th anniversary of their club’s founding, won 5-2 against Innsbruck in front of their home crowd on Friday and maintained their lead in the table. Defending champion Salzburg clearly had the upper hand 4-1 in the duel between the first VSV pursuers in Szekesfehervar. The KAC, victorious for the first time, defeated the crisis-ridden runner-up Bozen 4:2 away.

The Graz 99ers had to bow to Ljubljana at home 2:3 after extra time. The Pioneers Vorarlberg, on the other hand, won their home game against the Black Wings Linz 4-1, with the hosts scoring three goals in the last ten minutes. Robert Sabolic played a large part in the next VSV success with his two early goals. In Salzburg’s success in Hungary, a player also scored twice, Peter Schneider scored twice in the final third. The KAC came out on top in an exchange of blows with HCB Südtirol. The decision was made by goals from Clemens Unterweger (50th) and Manuel Ganahl (56th) after an even run. At Bolzano there was an interim coaching duo behind the team, but they couldn’t prevent the next bankruptcy. The previous season’s finalists separated from head coach Niklas Sundblad, who had only been brought in in the summer, before the match due to the miserable start to the season. His successor is expected to be presented in the next few days.
