iCloud Photos, Apple Music and Apple TV+ finally arrive natively on Windows

If you have an iPhone but use a Windows computer, good news: syncing your photos will soon be easier. During the conference dedicated to the presentation of its new Surface computers, Microsoft announced the upcoming arrival of native iCloud Photos synchronization on Windows.

No need for iTunes or the web version of iCloud, synchronization will be integrated into the Windows Photos application thanks to an update planned for the month of November. The functionality is already available for users of beta versions of Windows (Insider Program). Just install iCloud from the Microsoft Store, then follow the few setup steps in the Photos app for the photos to install.

Apple Music is available on Xbox

But that’s not all, Apple will make Apple Music and Apple TV+ applications available on Windows. Again, this solution will replace web applications, which are far from ideal for consuming content. Both apps will be available next year, according to Microsoft. While it will take some time to enjoy Apple’s streaming services on computers, Xbox owners can already install Apple Music on their console, following the arrival of Apple TV+ on the platform almost two years ago. year. If you’re using a PS5 rather than an Xbox, the music streaming service is also available.

Apple is therefore opening up its ecosystem a little beyond its products. This is obviously a way for the company to win over as many customers as possible, but anything that avoids having to use iTunes on Windows is good to take.
