If you liked De Grace and Narcos, this new Netflix series is for you!

The thriller “An Iron Fist”, to watch on Netflix, takes us to the docks of Barcelona and its thriving drug trade…

What is it about ?

The seaport of Barcelona receives almost 6,000 containers per day. Goods from all over the world among which, in the space of just one year, more than 30 tons of cocaine can be hidden, making the Spanish city one of the most important entry points in Europe for the lucrative trade of Drugs. Owner of the main port terminal, Joaquin Manchado knows this well.

Anyone who wants to import an illegal load must benefit from his support and the collaboration of the criminal network that he has developed around him. However, an unexpected accident and the disappearance of a large shipment of cocaine will trigger a ruthless war punctuated by murder and revenge.

On the docks of Barcelona

Like every Friday, Netflix puts new content online. This week, it’s the latest Spanish production that is attracting attention. With an Iron Hand takes us to the docks of Barcelona where a game of chess takes place between traffickers, smugglers and the police. Enough to make us think of the recent French series De Grace, which made the docks of Le Havre the scene of intrigue and quite flourishing cocaine trafficking. The family aspect is also at the heart of these two stories.

We also logically think of Narcos, for the way in which the goods are transported to Europe. The first minutes of the program inform us that the Spanish city is one of the main entry points for drug traffickers.

Not recommended for under 16s

With an Iron Hand is a classic thriller, slow and sticky, but also violent, not for young children (it is also not recommended for those under 16). The 8 episodes that make up season 1 allow us to present the forces in place, including the leader nicknamed “the penguin” (played by Eduardo Fernandez) because he happens to have a hook in place of his hand, his son-in-law Nestor (Jaime Lorente from La Casa de Papel), the undercover cop Victor (Chino Darrin)… Three faces that Netflix subscribers may know since they have already appeared in other Iberian productions.

This new Netflix series has all the ingredients to become a success in France. Audiences are fond of Spanish productions and more particularly thrillers. But above all the end of the second episode, which completely reshuffles the cards, which will not leave subscribers indifferent…
