IFA 2022 – Honor enters the tablet market with the Pad 8

Honor launches in France on the market of touch pads. The Chinese brand is banking on an entry-level model, the Pad 8, to make its debut.

Honor is not satisfied with a smartphone. On the occasion of the IFA in Berlin, the Chinese brand is entering the market for touch pads in Europe, which is definitely very popular – evidenced by the arrival of Oppo in this same segment with its Pad. Without much originality, it is therefore a Pad 8 announced by the manufacturer. This is also an entry-level model.

The features of the Honor Pad 8 are intended to be rather simple. The tablet sports a 12-inch LCD panel displaying 1200 x 2000 pixels and promising a brightness of 350 nits. It has a case of 240.2 x 159 x 6.9 mm, rather thin, weighing 520 grams. Under the hood, there is a low-energy configuration, namely a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chip flanked by 4 to 6 GB of RAM, but also 128 GB of storage. It is accompanied by a promising 7250 mAh battery, d ‘after the mark, up to 14 hours of video playback. It is also compatible with 22.5 W charging.

We suspect that with such a configuration, the Pad 8 is more oriented towards multimedia than towards gaming or productivity, even if the device offers a display mode approaching that of a PC and multi-window. There is also support for DTS: X Ultra audio and the Honor Histen function, promising to simulate an audio spatialization effect. The tablet also supports Bluetooth 5.1 and has a 5 megapixel module on the back and front. The Honor Pad 8 finally runs Android 12 with the Magic UI 6.1 interface.

Cousin of the Oppo Pad, with which it shares its chip and screen definition, the Honor Pad 8 is announced at a price of €349, the price of its competitor in its 128 GB version. It will be available at from September 19.
