IFA 2022 – Huawei launches in France the Nova 10 and Nova 10 Pro, smartphones designed for selfies

While waiting for its new Mates, Huawei announces the French release of its Nova 10 and Nova 10 Pro. Interesting smartphones for their promises in terms of photos, but expensive given the absence of 5G and Google services.

Two months after their announcement in China, Huawei is launching its Nova 10 and 10 Pro in Europe. The Chinese brand, which recently unveiled version 3 of its in-house operating system, HarmonyOS, reserves it for its domestic market. It is therefore under the AOSP version of Android that the two terminals will be marketed in France.

In terms of features, nothing has changed since the initial announcement. The Nova 10 Pro therefore offers, behind its 6.78-inch Oled screen (120 Hz and Full HD +), a Snapdragon 778G chip from Qualcomm. You guessed it, this is a 4G version of the chipset, as has been the case with all the brand’s latest mobiles. The chip is accompanied by 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and a 4500 mAh battery. It benefits from a fast charge at 100 W which should allow it to refuel very quickly.

Everything for selfies

This rather luxurious-looking smartphone is equipped with a triple back module with a 50-megapixel main sensor (f / 1.8 wide-angle optics), an 8 Mpx sensor (ultra-wide-angle f / 2.2 ) and a last one of 2 Mpx, dedicated to the measurement of depth. The smartphone, to distinguish itself from its many competitors, also emphasizes selfies. To do this, it has a dual front photo unit, consisting of a 60 megapixel sensor with ultra wide-angle optics, and an 8 Mpx sensor with the equivalent of a 2x optical zoom.

The Nova 10 has a slightly more compact format, with a 6.67-inch screen: its weight is also 168 grams, compared to 191 g for the Nova 10 Pro. It is equipped with the same chip, the same rear and front photo blocks, except that it loses the 8 Mpx front sensor. We also note that its battery, more compact, displays 4000 mAh (66 W).

Huawei announces the launch of pre-orders for its Nova 10 and Nova 10 Pro on September 26, for availability in October. The equipment dedicated to selfies, however, has a high price, given the absence of Google services and 5G connectivity: count 499 € for the Nova 10 and 699 € for the Nova 10 Pro.
