Definitely addicted to headphones true-wireless, Jabra is taking advantage of the IFA to present its latest model, the Elite 5, which follow the Elite 7 Pro, Elite 7 Active, Elite 4 Active and Elite 3 launched between September 2021 and the beginning of this year. With regard to the technical sheet and the speech of the Danish manufacturer, the purpose of its Elite 5 is “to meet all the daily needs”. In other words, to offer a level of performance and a range of functions capable of satisfying everyone. For this, the Elite 5 generally retain the same in-ear design of their congeners, while borrowing here and there some of their characteristics.

The Elite 5 offer hybrid and adjustable active noise reduction, which would be optimized by the Qualcomm QCC3050 chip integrated into the headphones. This function is accompanied by an environment listening mode, which is also adjustable. This chip provides the Bluetooth 5.2 connection with multipoint support to two devices (like the Elite 7 Active, but Conversely Elite 4 Active) and support for SBC, AAC and aptX codecs. A network of six microphones, accompanied by a wind noise reduction system, takes care of active noise reduction and calls (compared to four on the Elite 4 Active and Elite 3). The Jabra Sound+ companion app is, unsurprisingly, part of the headphones to offer real customization options (sound, ergonomics, etc.), as well as some practical features.

As for features, the Elite 5 supports Google and Microsoft’s quick pairing feature, as well as both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice assistants. On the autonomy side, the new headphones from Jabra would offer a small 7 hours of use per charge with the active noise reduction activated. The charging case (equipped with a USB-C port and compatible with Qi wireless charging) would provide three additional charges. Jabra does not provide many details on the sound part, only specifying the integration of a 6 mm dynamic speaker per earphone, as on the other models.

Here is a well-filled technical sheet which will obviously have a lot to do to heckle a terrible competition. The Jabra Elite 5 are available at a price of 170 €, for the moment in two colors: black and beige.
