At IFA 2022, Lenovo presents its new touch tablets, the Tab P11 and P11 Pro (2nd Gen). They retain some of the characteristics of the 2021 models and are now based on MediaTek chips.

IFA obliges, Lenovo announces its new products intended for marketing between the start of the school year and the holiday season. Among them, two touch pads will succeed the Tab P11. The Chinese giant is simplifying its life, so these are the second generation Tab P11 and P11 Pro (2nd Gen), quite close to the 2021 models.

The two newcomers retain the relatively compact format of their elders, both sporting an 11-inch screen, or rather 11.2 inches for the Pro model and 11.5 inches for the 11 model. Like last year, Lenovo reserves for its best-equipped tablet an Oled panel (2560 x 1536 pixels, refresh rate of 120 Hz), while the P11 sports an LCD panel (2000 x 1200 pixels, 120 Hz).

It is under their hood that we spot one of the main novelties. If their predecessors were equipped with entry / mid-range chips signed Qualcomm, Lenovo prefers them in 2022 chips designed by MediaTek. At the controls of the Tab P11 Pro (2nd Gen), we thus identify the Kompanio 1300T dedicated to tablets or Chromebooks; the P11 2nd Gen is powered by a Helio G99. The two chips are flanked by 4 to 6 GB of RAM depending on the versions selected, or even 8 GB for the P11 Pro, with 128 to 256 GB of storage for the P11 Pro 2nd Gen, and 64 to 129 GB of storage for the P11 2nd Gen, which also benefits from a microSD slot.

The tablets have a battery of 7700 mAh for the case of the P11 2nd Gen, which thus retains the capacity of the first generation, and 8000 mAh, slightly lower if compared to that of the Tab P11 Pro of 2021. We also note that the first is compatible with the Precision Pen 2 stylus, while the P11 Pro can work in concert with the Precision Pen 3, to be magnetized on the body of the tablet.

Lenovo expects the availability of its P11 Pro 2nd Gen next September, starting at €499. This is a European price likely to vary by a few tens of euros in France. The P11 2nd Gen will be marketed from November at a starting price of €299, a price similar to that of the P11 of 2021.
