IFA 2022 – The Dreame X10 Ultra, best robot of this edition

3

This year, the trophy for best robot does not go to an articulated dog or a humanoid specimen. The Dreame X10 Ultra wins the prize. Certainly less fascinating, this fully automatic robot vacuum cleaner will however delight you on a daily basis.

Dreame regularly signs 5-star devices with Digital. Still unknown until recently, the manufacturer is now a renowned competitor against the dreaded Roborock and iRobot. This year, the Chinese took advantage of the IFA to present its next product: the X10 Ultra. And it is no coincidence that this one wins the title of “best robot” of the 2022 edition.

So yes, it is less amazing than the CyberDog presented by Xiaomi in 2021, or than the Optimus, the humanoid robot revealed by Tesla in early 2022. But the X10 Ultra is just as unique as its two friends, so we don’t have never seen such a complete robot vacuum cleaner in the editorial office.

Currently, it is still a prototype; the technical characteristics are therefore not yet decided, but there is already enough to make people envious. The X10 Ultra is equipped with a laser rangefinder, artificial intelligence, a camera and 3D lasers, which should allow it to perfectly map its environment and avoid obstacles as well as possible. With a suction power of 6000 Pa, the Dreame should pick up most debris littering the floor.

Two rotating mops can also be put in place by the robot. Yes, by the robot and not by the user. He is indeed able to install and remove them alone depending on the area to be cleaned. Currently, it is the only robot vacuum with this feature. The user therefore no longer needs to exhaust himself removing his thick carpets so that his cleaning is properly done. Finally, faced with the thinnest carpets, the X10 Ultra can choose to raise its two pads so as not to soak the carpet.

Its very massive base is multifunctional. It has two water tanks, one filled with clean water and the other with dirty water, with an optional detergent bottle. It is therefore she who manages the water supply of the robot. A dust bag is also integrated into its casing and allows the collector to be emptied. Finally, this docking station has the ability to wash mops and dry them.

If this autonomy is remarkable, it is not unprecedented. What is is the robot’s ability to fill and empty its two water tanks on its own. To do this, two slots are provided at the rear of the station to fix the water inlet and outlet pipes. As a result, the Dreame X10 Ultra automatically manages the complete maintenance of its base. This is robot empowerment to the extreme!

With all these features, floor cleaning becomes a bad memory. It remains to wait until 2023 to acquire this fully automatic robot. No price is yet communicated.
