It was during IFA 2022 that we discovered the first Ezviz robot vacuum cleaner, the RS2. A year later, the video surveillance specialist confirms its interest in this sector and outbids with the RS20 Pro. This new model promises to bring several improvements, both on the side of the robot and the station.

Increased suction power and brushes that lift

The RS20 Pro, first of all, promises increased suction power: 6200 Pa announced, against 4000 Pa. It also gains a system that allows it to raise its side brushes to prevent them from getting caught in the carpets in climbing on it.

This is also a problem we had encountered while testing the RS2. He should therefore not land with his successor, who can of course also leave his mops in his station to vacuum the carpets without wetting them after washing the floor. There are also the same navigation tools, including a laser rangefinder on the top and a camera on the front, again accompanied by artificial intelligence to identify obstacles and avoid them as well as possible.

Automatic emptying in addition to the station

The station also has a few surprises in store, including a 5-litre bag into which the RS20 Pro collector empties. It thus erases the main defect that we found in the RS2. Despite its imposing dimensions, the station of the latter only offers the washing of mops and the filling of the water tank of the robot. These functions are of course carried over to the new model, which thus gains significantly in autonomy. Hot air drying (55°C) is also making its appearance.

For the time being, Ezviz has not communicated either price or release date for the RS20 Pro, but we can expect a very high-end positioning. As a reminder, the RS2 was launched at a price of 1299 €. For small budgets, however, more affordable models should also arrive at Ezviz: the RC3 and the RE5. It will of course be necessary to agree to some compromises, on the suction power, the washing or the detection of obstacles. The RC3 even makes a cross on the mop and the laser rangefinder.
