The StanbyME Go (27LX5QKNA) from LG is a small 27-inch Full HD portable TV. It is perfectly integrated in a reinforced case that complies with military standard MIL-STD-810H. The product has passed 11 tests covering low pressure, high temperature, low temperature, dust, vibration, salt spray, shock and drop situations. The 27-inch screen should withstand most everyday shocks, as long as the case remains closed.
The StanbyME Go is sold as a television on the Korean manufacturer’s site, although it does not include a tuner. You have to make do with video streaming apps as well as LG channels. It uses webOS 22 software, similar to LG TVs, but the interface can be controlled via the touchscreen (in addition to the remote) which puts this product halfway between a monitor and a tablet. Video processing is entrusted to a mid-range LG α7 Gen5 AI chip.
Turntable mode…
The screen can be positioned in landscape mode with a height adjustment of 18 cm and in portrait mode. LG also shows some specific uses with the screen left at the bottom of the case to play a board game or even to simulate a vinyl turntable.
Connectivity with an HDMI input, a USB port and a connector for extending the infrared receiver. The power supply is placed a little further. Battery activation is via a physical switch.
The StanbyME Go also includes an audio system consisting of four speakers for a total power of 20 W. The set is also compatible with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, but the on-board hardware should not allow you to fully enjoy content. quality HDR or immersive 360° sound. Autonomy is quite disappointing, since it is very far from that of market tablets. The StanbyME Go is satisfied with three hours of operation away from an outlet, in “economy” mode and with a volume at 30%. On the connection side, you have to make do with an HDMI input and a USB port. It also has wifi and Bluetooth.
The remote control holder also hides a small storage space.
The LG StanbyME GO portable TV should be available in France before the end of the year for around €1000.
