IFA 2023 – Thomson unveils three vintage and affordable speakers

On the occasion of IFA 2023 in Berlin, the French manufacturer Thomson revealed a new family comprising three wireless speakers to sound his home. On the menu, versatility, practicality and above all, a charming vintage design embellished with potentiometers in a pretty box with a wood finish.

Thomson Cozy WS602DUO

The Thomson Cozy WS602DUO, as its name suggests, are a duo of 22 x 15 x 17 cm bookshelf type speakers. These speakers will be perfect for enjoying stereo rendering at home alongside a television or a vinyl turntable, for example. Obviously, Bluetooth connectivity is required to connect your smartphone in addition to the RCA (x2) and optical (x1) inputs and thus benefit from a total RMS power of 100 W.

Thomson Cozy WS702

Still using the same retro design and wooden finish, the WS702 has two woofers and two tweeters under the removable fabric grille. On the top, three adjustment potentiometers accompany a nicely made on/off switch. As its beautiful volume of 43 x 17 x 15 cm suggests, the power peaks at 150 W RMS. On the connectivity side, Thomson is quite generous with an HDMI socket, an optical input, an RCA input and a USB port in addition to Bluetooth 5.0, as well as an auxiliary output and a port for a subwoofer.

Thomson Cozy WS502

To simplify, the WS502 is a more compact WS702 (29 x 17 x 15 cm). It has the same design and the control panel on the top. The connection is reduced, losing the HDMI and optical socket. On the power side, it still peaks at 100 W RMS.

Price and availability

Presented at the IFA, these three speakers should land on the shelves in September. On the price side, the Thomson Cozy WS602DUO, WS702 and WS502 are quite affordable. They are thus billed respectively at €99.90, €119.90 and €79.90.
