The brand presents a new touch pad general public who put everything on their 2K screen.
Honor did not come empty-handed to IFA 2022 and is taking advantage of its presence in Berlin to announce, in addition to its Honor 70 smartphone, a new touchscreen tablet.
An XXL screen cut for streaming
The Honor Pad 8, that’s its name, first of all offers a brand new FullView screen with a very comfortable 12-inch size. The panel has a 2K resolution, displays up to 1 billion colors on the screen and the tablet offers a display area of 87%, thanks to reduced edges.
To accentuate the visual comfort of users, the Honor Pad 8 benefits from a TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification at the hardware level and the TÜV Rheinland Flicker Free certification which guarantees a reduction in the blue light produced by the screen.
Consumers of movies and series in streaming will also be able to count on DTS: X Ultra sound provided by eight speakers arranged on either side of the tablet.
The device offers a relatively decent weight of 520 grams and a thickness of 6.9 mm. The grip has a matte coating and curved edges.
An entry-level tablet that is primarily aimed at families
The technical sheet of the Honor Pad 8 is more modest with an eight-core Snapdragon 680 processor, 128 GB of storage and 4 or 6 GB of RAM depending on the configuration chosen. A micro SD port allows you to increase the storage capacity when needed. There is also a Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 chip, but no 4G or 5G cellular version. For the OS, Huawei is betting on Android 12, enriched with its Magic UI 6.1 overlay.
The photo part is ensured by two sensors, one on the back and the other on the front, of 5 megapixels each and the announced autonomy is 10 to 14 hours with a 7,250 mAh battery. A USB-C port is present at the bottom of the device for charging at 22.5 W.
The Honor Pad 8 will be available in a unique Blue Hour color from September 19 at a price of 349.90 euros at online retailers, including Amazon.
