With ruffles in pink: Ikea is releasing a new edition of the legendary blue bag with designer Zandra Rhodes

In addition to scented candles and picture frames, the blue Frakta bag from Ikea quickly landed in the shopping cart. Now there is the popular everyday helper in the designer version – in pink with ruffles.
Anyone who has reached too often for scented candles and other home accessories in the basement of Ikea can hardly avoid the blue cult bag with the name Frakta. For many, the oversized plastic bag has become a practical everyday helper: thanks to its spaciousness, it is often used when moving, collecting returnable bottles or generally for transporting large items.
In the past, Ikea has always brought out new designs for its Frakta bag. From Saturday, September 4th, a version by British fashion designer Zandra Rhodes will be available for purchase in the Swedish furniture store – in pink with ruffles.
The new bag is part of a limited collection
The Frakta will be available from next Saturday as part of the limited Karismatisk collection at Ikea, which was created in collaboration with Zandra Rhodes, whose colorful creations were also worn by Princess Diana and Freddy Mercury. The result is a selection of home and decorative items with floral and snake patterns, stars in expressive colors such as pink, blue and gold.
For this reason, Frakta has also been repainted and shines in bright pink instead of the Swedish national colors in the style of the designer. “The Frakta bag embodies Ikea – that’s why it couldn’t be missing in the Karismatisk collection,” says Zandra Rhodes. “I was so excited that I was able to interpret one of the most famous Ikea products with the greatest recognition value in my own way,” explains the designer.
The pink fracta as a fashion accessory
The limited Ikea bag is a little smaller than the original and comes in two versions: each with a capacity of 25 liters and a capacity of 60 liters. The little Frakta in particular shouldn’t be more than a fashion accessory.
“It is playful and functional, and the bright pink adds an additional Zandra accent,” says the fashion icon about her version of the bag and adds: “It is multifunctional and brilliant!”
