Ikea Kreativ: our opinion on the tool to arrange its interior boosted with AI

It was only available across the Atlantic. The Kreativ tool was indeed launched in the United States initially, but it has recently been deployed internationally. Designed by Ikea to help its customers to arrange their interior, Kreativ scans the home, offers to visually remove the furniture present before adding new ones from the Ikea catalog. Obviously…

To Digital, we have therefore tested this new tool which should avoid errors of taste or measurement errors. At least we hope so. We then install the Ikea application.

We have the possibility of visualizing a Söderhamn and a Lövbacken in our living room, in other words, a sofa and a coffee table. The wait being unbearable, we scan our room, as requested by the application.

A photo and a few shamanic movements later, it’s done: our living room is on the Ikea application. The replica is perfect, the dimensions and perspectives seem accurate.

The advantage of this application is the ability to visually remove existing furniture. The room is then bare, ready to be dressed in furniture from the Swedish giant. Items can then be selected from the manufacturer’s catalog and added to the previously taken photo. Thanks to mixed reality and artificial intelligence, they appear in 3D and can be placed as desired. Of course, it is possible to buy the selected furniture directly online.

Partly furnished rooms are also available in the application and they too can be composed.

With Kreativ, Ikea offers a fun tool and integrates artificial intelligence a little more into our daily lives. And if this application can save us from wandering around for long hours in this gallery of Swedish furniture, we’re all ears.
