“To curb the dynamics of contamination linked to the Omicron variant, and in addition to vaccination and barrier measures which remain the most effective levers to fight against this epidemic, the screening offer is further strengthened” jointly communicated the Agency. regional health (ARS) and the Paris police headquarters, this Friday, while the number of positive cases exceeds 70,000 every day.

Proof of this is the number of screening tests carried out by health professionals, in particular pharmacists and medical biology laboratories, “increased from 1.5 million per week to more than 2.5 million at the beginning of January” in the region. Ile-de-France, can we read in the press release. To relieve them of this burden, 34 new screening locations have already opened or will open in the coming days.

They will be added to the 16 vaccination centers, which already offer screening tests. “This screening offer, which aims to meet current testing needs during a period of high circulation of the virus, is aimed primarily at adults”, warns the ARS, which recommends that children “be directed in priority to pharmacies, who will be able to issue them self-tests paid for by Health Insurance”.
