Iliad gains 872,000 subscribers in the first quarter


BRIEF // Between January and March 2022, Iliad saw its Ebitda after rents increase by 6.1% to 714 million euros. Over the period, the group captured 790,000 new mobile subscribers and 82,000 fixed.

Iliad starts 2022 with a net profit of 477 million euros, against 131 million a year earlier. In the first quarter, Xavier Niel’s group managed to win 872,000 subscribers, including 790,000 on mobile and 82,000 on landline. The biggest increase came from Poland with 370,000 new subscribers, in particular thanks to the distribution by its operator Play of free SIM cards to support Ukrainian refugees. For its part, Italy has captured 320,000 additional subscribers, against 183,000 in France.

This performance allowed the parent company of Free to see its Ebitda after rents (the main indicator of operators’ profitability) increase by 6.1% to 714 million euros. As for Iliad’s turnover between January and March, it stood at 1.9 billion euros, up 5.1%. The group, which withdrew from the Paris Stock Exchange in 2021, is targeting more than 8 billion euros in revenue in 2022.
