The German comedy scene is constantly evolving and various artists prove that not everything is always so funny with authentic insights into their lives. Ilka Bessin, 52, also shelved the iconic image of Cindy from Marzahn in pink sweatpants, a curly wig and flashy make-up including a Berlin snout for a certain period of time and celebrated her successes differently: as the author of the book “Abgeschminkt: Das Life is beautiful – there was never any talk of it being easy”, as presenter of the series “Really now?!” and as the owner of a kiosk in Berlin. Before Ilka Bessin gets going again as Cindy from Marzahn, this time with her own show on RTL, she seems to be slowing down. She shares the unfiltered recording with her followers on Instagram.

Ilka Bessin: Stay away from the filters

On her new Instagram post, Ilka Bessin presents herself without any noticeable make-up and also without any filters. The selfie shows her in an honest light, without done hair or horn-rimmed glasses. Only some black eyeliner and brown paint frame her eyes and eyebrows – it is not clear whether this is permanent make-up. “Unfiltered and still beautiful. Show me the true face. Believe me, it works without it and doesn’t hurt at all,” writes Ilka Bessin about the recording and in the same breath is a true role model that her fans also appreciate.

Influencers on Instagram in particular are often accused of only showing the beautiful sides of their lives and, in the worst case, using filters and FaceTune to transform themselves into the supposedly perfect person. An endless pressure that primarily affects the followers who try to emulate this ideal. The fact that the presenter doesn’t take part is even nicer.

Her fans support the message

Did the TV star expect such a flood of positive and supportive comments? One user immediately supports Ilka Bessin’s message with a thumbs up: “Yes, that’s how unfiltered people are, authentic and individual,” another agrees: “There’s already enough crap in life, so for me it’s ONLY unfiltered.” But it’s raining much more than just shared support, the comedian can also be happy about compliments: “So incredibly natural” and “simply beautiful” are just two of the many comments that can be found between heart and applause emojis. With so much popularity, fans shouldn’t wait long for the next unfiltered picture.
