I’ll give you all this on France 2: is the series adapted from a true story?

France 2 is broadcasting two new episodes this Wednesday evening of “All this I will give you”, a family saga with a gripping intrigue. Is the miniseries adapted from a true story?

Last Wednesday, France 2 launched the broadcast of All this, I’ll give it to you, a gripping family saga carried by David Kammenos, an actor whose face is not unknown to you, and Bruno Solo in an unsuitable role.

Made up of 6 episodes, this dramatic mini-series follows Manuel Ortigosa, a writer lacking inspiration who will have to deal with the sudden death of his husband, Aymeric. As he goes down to Aix to examine the body, he discovers that an entire part of his dear and dear one’s life was unknown to him.

He had in fact secretly taken over the wine estate of his family, with whom he said he had cut ties for years. In order to lift the veil on the true circumstances of her husband’s death, Manuel will join forces with Richard, a retired police officer. Together, they will have to uncover many family secrets surrounding the Fontaresse estate.

Adaptation of a bestseller

As incredible as it is, All That I’ll Give You is not adapted from a true story but from a Spanish bestseller whose success has crossed borders. Written by Dolores Redondo, Todo is to you dare (translated into French not All this I will give to you) was published in 2016, and quickly became a bestseller, selling more than 34,000 copies.

For the purposes of the adaptation, certain details were however modified, as Bruno Solo explained to us during an interview with AlloCiné. “The book is set in Galicia, which is a very harsh region in the northwest of Spain, above Portugal”, he explained.

In the French version, we have radically changed settings since we are in the south of France which is a very sunny and bright region. But even if the atmosphere changes, the psychology of the characters remains the same.”

“She liked what I did with the character”

Dolores Redondo also went to the set of All That I’ll Give You and had the opportunity to watch the episodes before their broadcast. And according to Bruno Solo, the writer validated this reinterpretation of her text.

She liked what I did with the character of Richard”, he confided proudly. “She told me that’s how she saw it. So that made me happy. She told me that physically and also in the interpretation, it was exactly what she expected from the character.”
