A scandal of aggression will probably cost the Juventus coach his job

Juve wins the Italian Cup again – for the 15th time. Coach Allegri is said to have then freaked out and threatened a journalist that he wanted to “hit him in the face”. Now there is even speculation about Allegri’s dismissal. It’s already blocked.

The coach of the Italian Cup winners Juventus Turin, Massimiliano Allegri, has to fear for his job despite the success. According to media reports, the 56-year-old is about to be released. Allegri received a red card on the sidelines shortly before the end of the 1-0 win against Atalanta Bergamo. He is then said to have insulted a journalist badly and also threatened him personally.

The Juventus coach was sent to the locker room early by the referee in stoppage time on Wednesday evening because he had argued with the fourth official in the Olympic Stadium in Rome. He then tore his tie off and stormed off. On the way to the usual press conference, he is said to have attacked the editor-in-chief of the sports newspaper “Tuttosport”, Guido Vaciago.

Vaciago claimed in an online article on Thursday that Allegri called him a “shitty director” who was spreading lies. Afterwards he even pushed him, held his finger under his nose and threatened: “I know where I can pick you up. I know where I have to wait for you. I’ll come and tear both of your ears off. I’ll come and hit you in your face.” Allegri was then held back by a club spokeswoman and an official.

Two-game suspension for Allegri

Juventus Turin – now 15-time cup winners – apologized for their behavior. There was initially no statement from Allegri himself. According to a report in the newspaper “La Repubblica”, his immediate dismissal is being considered. U19 coach Paolo Montero could take over for the last two games in Serie A, the paper wrote. The Italian news agency Ansa also reported on a possible separation in the afternoon.

Either way, the season is already over for him. The league gave him a two-match ban and a fine of 5,000 euros because of the red card. In the championship, Turin has already secured qualification for the Champions League as fourth in the table. Inter Milan won the championship title.

Allegri worked very successfully as Juventus coach between 2014 and 2019. He has been back there since 2021. The Atalanta Bergamo club, which lost to Turin, will play Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final next week.
