In order to be able to party despite Corona restrictions, German young people are always coming up with new ideas. While some recently traveled to Switzerland to celebrate, others hid on Sunday in the village of Overath in a very unusual place: in the cavity of a motorway bridge!
The scale of the illegal party was beyond imagination, according to a message from the local police. The young people celebrated until the early hours of the morning. It is still unclear exactly how many people were inside the bridge. The police assume that there will be over 100 participants.
Followed a trail of trash and beer bottles
At around 8 a.m., police officers discovered several young people walking towards Overath. When the officers followed a trail of rubbish and beer bottles, they met two people below the A4 bridge, who then checked them.
During the inspection, the officers noticed music coming from the cavity of the bridge. They found that the door to the inside of the bridge was unlocked – the complete locking mechanism was removed from the front door. Then suddenly people climbed out of the 500-meter-long cavity on the opposite side of the bridge. The police called for reinforcements.
Report of trespassing
In an adjacent forest, the officers caught a group of 12 people and checked them. Some of them had come specially from nearby cities. When the emergency services searched the cavity of the motorway bridge, no one was there.
The police then filed a complaint of trespassing. In addition, she issued several administrative offense reports for violating the Corona Protection Ordinance. It is believed that the participants of the party organized in advance via the social networks. Just a week earlier, an illegal party took place under a motorway bridge in the same town. (bra)
