Since The Brigerton Chronicle landed on Netflix, fans raved about the series’ storylines as much as its aesthetic. Sets, costumes, beauty… The production of the program pulled out all the stops to offer a visual of incomparable quality. And the least we can say is that the style of the characters continues to hit the mark since the release of season 3 of the show.

We could see this with the real transformation of Penelope Featherington played by Nicola Coughlan. During an interview with the site Who What Wear, Farida Ghwedar, hairstylist from the Netflix series, explained all the steps which she went through to create the characters’ hairstyles. Thus, the hairstylist revealed that to create these exceptional hairstyles, she used a lot of wigs. To style them for a day of filming, she had to opt for quality products that ensure long-lasting hold. And she revealed which product allowed her to carry out her mission.

“I started styling by drying with the Bumble and Bumble Surf Foam Spray Blow Dry to give texture and hold. I love it because the product diffuses finely and evenly, giving hold without weighing down the hair.”, explained Farida Ghwedar. This product offers a perfect beach return effect for light curls with volume.

Inspirations for the looks of The Brigerton Chronicle

To create the looks for all the Featherington sisters, Farida Ghwedar explained that she started from a mood board inspired by pinups from the 40s : “I took these silhouettes and worked with Nicola during fittings to see what worked”.

Then, she mixed all this with influences “Hollywood style from the late 80s, early 90s. I was very attracted to these because they were more subtle than the more rigid originals.” Thus, she kept in mind icons of this period like Claudia Schiffer, Brooke Shields and Kylie Minogue. Farida Ghwedar then finished her looks by adding more modern touches also inspired by Beyoncé. A more than successful bet!
