Because of the corona pandemic, the jungle camp could not last take place in Australia. And what about the upcoming season?

Will RTL be able to shoot the jungle camp again in Australia next year? Fans have been asking themselves this question for a long time. Because “I’m a star – get me out of here!” could not take place there at the beginning of the year due to the corona pandemic. Instead, there was a replacement show. Allegedly, the station is currently looking for suitable locations in Germany in order to be able to broadcast the program from home at the beginning of 2022, as reported by “Bild am Sonntag”.

In recent years, the British variant of the format and the German jungle camp usually shared the camp in Australia. At the beginning of August it was announced that the new season of the British show will be produced in Wales. As in the previous season, which like the German format could not be filmed Down Under due to the pandemic, it will go back to Gwrych Castle.

Looking for a castle in southern Germany?

According to “Bild am Sonntag”, RTL is said to be pursuing a similar plan. Accordingly, one is considering finding a castle in the home country for the German version as well. The station is currently examining several options in southern Germany. However, RTL has not yet wanted to comment on this.

In January 2021, the station could not broadcast the jungle camp in the usual form and instead showed the replacement program “I am a star – The great jungle show”, in which a permanent participant for the coming season was sought. Ex- “Bachelorette” candidate Filip Pavlovic (27) secured the ticket for 2022. Singer Lucas Cordalis (54) and designer Harald Glööckler (56) are already certain candidates for the next jungle camp.

Dr. Bob (71), the secret star of the jungle camp, could also be there again – even if the show was to be shot in Germany. He had already arrived at the beginning of the year for “The Great Jungle Show”.
