“I’m not asking you to decode my words”

A palpable annoyance. This Sunday, April 24, the French re-elected Emmanuel Macron at the head of the country. The outgoing president wins with 58.2% of the vote against Marine Le Pen and her 41.8%. Despite his defeat, the candidate of the National Rally signs a historic result for her party. To analyze these results, political figures follow one another on the various television and radio platforms. Among them, Rachida Dati presents on the set of TF1 alongside the government spokesperson, Gabriel Attal.

Asked about the role that her political family could play during the next legislative elections on June 12 and 19, the current mayor of the 7th arrondissement of Paris described his party, The Republicans, as “a government party”. “It is not an opposition or confrontation party (…) so we are a responsible party. We will not systematically oppose.
