“I’m not so wise”: Ana Girardot gets naked in La Maison, prohibited for children under 16

Prohibited in theaters for those under 16, Anissa Bonnefont’s film “La Maison” was released yesterday in our theaters. It is worn by Ana Girardot who agreed to shoot naked without lining. The actress explains why.

Third feature film by Anissa Bonnefont after Wonder Boy and Nadia, La Maison was released yesterday at the cinema.

This feature film, the director’s first fiction film, is adapted from the work and life of the novelist Emma Becker.

Ana Girardot plays Emma, a writer who, to write her new book, gets hired as a prostitute in a brothel in Berlin where prostitution is legal.

The novel published in 2019 by Editions Flammarion, describes the sex scenes with customers and talks about the sexual liberation of the author.

The film is very faithful to the original work and Ana Girardot, who plays the main role, agreed to shoot naked without using a stunt double.

Why did Ana Girardot agree to shoot naked?

This choice was made in agreement with the director, who explains to our microphone: “It was very important that there was no stunt double because I think for Ana, this leap into the void is similar to what her character feels when she greets a client for the first time.

It was going to feed his game. Besides, I didn’t want to film someone else. I wanted to have his way of moving, because it’s very incarnate because it’s full of emotions. And from the moment we talk about emotion there can be no double.

This is the first time that Ana Girardot has shot sex scenes. If the actress had some apprehension, the latter confides to us that she finally realized that she was very comfortable with her body and with nudity.

We initially worked with a very small team. Anissa had asked me if I agreed to walk naked for 10 meters. It was confusing and ultimately quite enjoyable. I have no problem with my body and women’s bodies.”

She adds : “And then I knew that if I accepted to play in this film I had to do it completely.

It was a leap into the void every day. But I forced myself to do it because it was out of the question for me to commit to this film without having this courage because I knew that other people could have had it and in this case it was necessary to give the role to someone else.

So there was a mixture of fear, shyness and apprehension but every day I also felt a sense of strength.

“Ana has a femininity and a strength that had not yet been exploited in the cinema”

A role at odds with what the young actress had so far embodied in the cinema. Asked about this, Anissa Bonnefont explained to us that she quickly saw in Ana Girardot a strength and a femininity that had not yet been exploited on the big screen.

It’s true that through her roles, Ana can project a wise image. In the cinema, she often accompanies the men. But me when I saw Ana Girardot on the red carpet, her way of dressing, of moving, of posing, I saw in her a very great femininity and a very great strength that we had not yet exploited in the cinema and i thought it was a shame.

That’s also why I thought of her. It is a form of femininity, moreover, which is not necessarily hers. But for me it was obvious that Ana had everything in her to embody this character.”

“I’m not that wise…”

Ana Girardot for her part is delighted to have won the role: “It was high time for this image to change because I’m not so wise, I’m not so pure and above all I’m an actress so I really want to explore roles that take me to the opposite of who I am and feel extraordinary emotions for me.

I chose to make this film because I have few examples in the cinema of a woman who takes a look at another woman’s sexuality. And a woman who, moreover, was going to offer me to me who had this image of someone wise, this role, this challenge, it was extraordinary. It’s a wonderful gift.

The actress adds:The fact of being able to talk about woman-to-woman sexuality, sensations and all these things and the fact that this film is made by a woman, changes everything that follows. There was never any discomfort.”

The House is currently in theaters.
