In less than 4 days, Shadow of the Erdrtree, the Elden Ring DLC, will be released. The clock is ticking, and this post reminds us that some players risk having a bad surprise when it comes out!

The arrival of Shadow of the Erdtree is more than imminent, the long-awaited DLC for Elden Ring will be released this Friday, June 21 on PC and consoles. And yet, it could well be that some players have an unpleasant surprise when wanting to access the Shadow Realm (the new additional content area). In order to enter, you will have to fulfill two conditions: defeat General Radahn and Mohg. But be careful, many might miss these bosses given that they are not required to complete the main quest of Elden Ring. This player reminds us of this on X via his post in which he says “I just beat Mohg! Finally ready for DLC!”

If this news could make the veterans of the game who have beaten all the bosses of the From Software title breathe their noses. Every second counts for experienced players who rush to defeat Mohg, the lord of blood and General Radahn, the scourge of the stars, both of which are not easy enemies to defeat if you are not prepared accordingly .

The biggest difficulty will not be defeating them, but finding them. If Margit the Fallen (the first major boss of the game) is at the entrance to the first Legacy Dungeon, our two guests hide in places that are difficult to access. In order to find Mohg, you will need to use a portal found in the Consecrated Snowy Fields, an optional area of the Summit of Giants, accessible towards the end of the game or to follow Varré’s quests.
As for General Radhan, you can follow the quests of Alexander and Ranni where you will have to reunite the two parts of the Dectus medallion, found at Fort Haight (west) and Fort Faroth. Once done, you will need to brandish the item at the Great Dectus Elevator, then go to the Impassable Viaduct and go through a portal. Then talk to the NPC claiming that “The festival begins!” a door will open and you just have to follow the path to teleport to the boss area. So it’s no surprise that many players won’t have access to the Shadow Realm when the DLC releases.
