iMac Pro 2022: why not, Apple?

The dream of a new iMac Pro could come true in the summer. We get even more excited when we look at the following pictures and ask ourselves: Why not like that, Apple?

The new iMac caused some confusion in spring 2021: unusually colorful and only available with a relatively small 24-inch display. If you want a larger screen and more subtle colors, you have to be satisfied with the old and not very future-proof Intel Mac (27 inch).

iMac Pro 2022: Realistic design of the Apple calculator

In all likelihood, this will change in the coming months, as early as June at the WWDC (Apple’s developer conference), Apple could present the “missing” computer – large 27-inch display with mini-LEDs, faster chips (M1 Pro and M1 Max ) and hopefully colors that don’t come from a five-year-old’s paint box. In short: Apple is resurrecting the iMac Pro, which we said goodbye to last year.

So that we can better imagine the good piece today, the concept artist “Vova LD” gave us the following images from the computer (source: Twitter, Vova LD). You show one realistic interpretation of the current rumors and let us ask whimsically: Why not like that, Apple?

Let’s be honest, that’s exactly what we would have wished for the iMac last year. An all-in-one computer from Apple for the chic office, not for the playful children’s room. Or loosely based on the slogan of a really good radio station: iMac Pro – for adults only!

Hard to believe, but this beauty of an iMac is already two decades old:

More connections are needed

In our opinion, the only thing worthy of criticism is the lack of connections in this “iMac Pro”. Just like the 24-inch model, there’s only 2x Thunderbolt / USB 4 and 2x USB 3.1 on the back. Clearly not enough for a Pro model. Hopefully Apple’s original gets a little more coverage this summer. Equivalent to the current MacBook Pro (14- and 16-inch models) an SDXC card slot and an HDMI connection would still be desirable. The latter can be used either as an input or as an output, so that the iMac can also be used as a monitor. Visually, however, Apple is welcome to be inspired by the above concept.
