Images of devastated Acapulco after Hurricane Otis

A force 5 hurricane hit Acapulco shortly after midnight local time, Wednesday October 25, with wind gusts of 315 kilometers per hour, according to the Mexican government. No human toll has yet been established, communications are still cut. The images show destroyed buildings and hotels reduced to their simple cement structure, as well as scenes of looting.

A few days ago, Hurricane Norma killed three people further north. It made landfall twice, first in the Baja California peninsula, then in the state of Sinaloa.
