(CercleFinance.com) – Imerys announces a strategic partnership with British Lithium, through the creation of a joint venture (JV) which will aim to become the first integrated producer of lithium carbonate for batteries in the United Kingdom.
The Frenchman brings his lithium mineral resources, land and infrastructure for an 80% stake in the JV, while the Briton brings his bespoke lithium processing technology, his teams and the pilot plant for the remaining 20% .
The planned development will include a quarry, a concentration plant and a conversion unit located on Imerys industrial land, in order to produce high-purity lithium in Cornwall.
