A farmer in Frantschach-St.Gertraud had to make a terrible discovery last week. He discovered 18,000 dead broilers in his barn. “The animals suffocated overnight,” explains official veterinarian Valentin Maierhofer in an interview with “Krone”. A defect in the ventilation system led to the death of the animals.
