“There is no break, no rupture, neither with the initial project, nor with the President of the Republic (Emmanuel Macron),” he assured on franceinfo. “I am loyal to this project, I am loyal to the president.” “I left the government for political reasons, I hope not for the quality of my work,” he admitted after leading the revolt within the government against the immigration law.

A walker from the start, Clément Beaune was not reappointed during the last reshuffle and today sits as a deputy for Paris. “I have been given intentions, words of threats, of blackmail, (…) that is not what I did, I expressed criticism or doubts in the debates that we had within the majority”, argued this supporter of the left wing of the macronie.
“I will never receive lessons in loyalty,” he insisted, refuting the term “betrayal”. Beyond that, he assured that he intended to “make proposals” and “bring ideas” along the lines of “this sensitivity, this identity, this history” of the social democracy in which he is part.
