Guest of the program “Europe 1 Soir week-end”, the Minister of Labour, Employment and Integration Olivier Dussopt confirmed the postponement of the examination of the immigration law. “The Prime Minister (Élisabeth Borne) told the President of the Senate (Gérard Larcher) that this bill (…) will not be debated next week in the Senate”, he told Pierre de Vilno .
The government is giving itself a break. The examination of the immigration law in the Senate is well postponed, confirmed Olivier Dussopt this Friday evening. In the show Europe 1 Evening weekendthe Minister of Labor explained that “the Prime Minister (Élisabeth Borne) told the President of the Senate (Gérard Larcher) that this bill that we have prepared with Gérald Darmanin (the Minister of the Interior), will not be debated next week in the Senate”.

Without announcing a date because it “is not yet set”, he underlined, Olivier Dussopt assured that “the government remained very attached to all the provisions, both those which allow to be more effective and to better regulate immigration, but also those which allow better integration through work”.
The Minister of Labour, Employment and Integration also indicated that the form that this bill will take has not yet been decided. “We will see that with the parliamentarians of the majority and the senators,” he said. “It can be government bills, it can be legislative proposals brought by parliamentarians, it can be a single text or several texts depending on the themes”, listed Olivier Dussopt. “We are going to set this up as part of the new method of the new agenda that the President of the Republic has announced,” he said on Europe 1, refuting governance by decree.
