Greece, Italy… Since the beginning of the year, shipwrecks have multiplied in the Mediterranean. On the front line, the boot-shaped country is facing a record influx of migrants to its shores. An extreme situation which caused many tensions between Paris and Rome, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin accusing Giorgia Meloni of being “unable to resolve the migratory problems on which she was elected”.
“A European problem”
Guest of Europe 1 this Tuesday morning, the president of the National Rally Jordan Bardella calls “Emmanuel Macron to realize that the migration problem is European”. The French president is due to meet Giorgia Meloni on Tuesday, particularly in the context of Rome’s bid for the 2030 World Expo.
A meeting that the MEP wishes to be constructive, so that the Head of State “realizes that immigration today poses a threat of civilization to our society, that it profoundly destabilizes the major balances of our nations such as security, the social pact, the way we live, the French art of living in a certain number of territories”, he believes.
A pact not to the taste of the RN
“I think that Mrs. Meloni must obviously be supported in the policy she leads. But the migrants who arrive on the Italian coasts must not be relocated in the villages and the French countryside, but in their country of departure. Me, I I am against this Asylum and Immigration Pact, I fight it every day with the MEPs of the National Rally”, continues Jordan Bardella. This pact, however signed by Italy, should make it possible to distribute the migrants in the European Union. Nonsense for the president of the RN, but also for Marine Le Pen who affirms that Giorgia Meloni would be forced to “make concessions” in Brussels to preserve his recovery plan.
“I think that the migrants who arrive today on the European coasts must be accompanied back to the countries of departure”, he insists, before concluding: “The responsibility for the shipwrecks lies directly with the people who defend the immigration in our society. Our policy of firmness is a human policy.”
