Cyndi Lauper was allowed to have her hand and footprints immortalized in cement in Hollywood. Pop diva Cher gave a moving speech to the singer.

Cyndi Lauper (70) was given a special honor: She was allowed to create a memorial in front of the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood with her hand and footprints, including her signature, in cement. At the ceremony, companion Cher (78) gave a touching speech to her “dear friend”. “She is a wonderful, wonderful, crazy, crazy person. I am a good singer, I am a pretty good singer, Cyndi is a great singer, she is a brilliant singer, she is a fabulous person and she is talented,” she raved, according to media reports.

The pop diva also recalled her first performance with Lauper. In 2002, they performed their hit “If I Could Turn Back Time” at the VH1 Divas concert. “I sang it and I was feeling really good, and then she came on and blew me away. And we’ve been friends ever since,” Cher said, adding: “I love her.”

Bebe Rexha also has words of praise

In addition to Cher, Bebe Rexha (34) was also present at the ceremony and couldn’t stop raving about her. “To say that Cyndi is someone I have idolized my entire life is an understatement,” emphasized the pop singer. Lauper strengthened her “not only as an artist, but above all as a woman.” With her handprints, the 80s icon will be “forever anchored in Hollywood history.”

Cyndi Lauper was visibly moved by the praise she received. “I can’t really listen to what they’re saying because I start crying and have to call my makeup artist, but I just want to say thank you. It’s really a surreal moment because you know I love glamour and I love Hollywood,” she said.
