does not intend to rest on its laurels this year. The Swiss company, which wants to be a sovereign European alternative to GAFAM by refusing to monetize personal data
of its users, intends to redouble its efforts in 2022 to continue to counter Google, Microsoft and the other big names in the sector.
After enriching its ecosystem with new interactions and initiating the development of an independent AI that respects privacy last year, Infomaniak will focus this time on the user experience of its existing products and on the development of new services for companies.
A redesign for kDrive and more security
Starting with the Infomaniak Suite, its scalable offer for professionals which contains all the group’s productivity tools (kDrive, kMail, Calendar, Contacts, kMeet, etc.). In 2022, the firm intends to offer companies a more unified solution to centralize their data, collaborate in real time and communicate securely in the same space. An invitation system is therefore planned for collaborators who join an organization, new functionalities to facilitate the management of rights and sharing, as well as a centralization of the management of teams and users.
Developments are also planned for its three flagship services. As far as kDrive is concerned, Infomaniak plans to facilitate its integration into external applications with a public API which will make it possible to reproduce almost everything that can be done from the web interface. A complete overhaul of the application for Windows, macOS and Linux is also in the works, while a ” TimeMachine will restore kDrive to an earlier state to undo accidental file deletions or modifications.

The Swiss firm also plans to integrate “zero knowledge” storage with safes, which will allow data to be encrypted and decrypted without Infomaniak being able to access your files.
The Mail app is coming in 2022
The artificial intelligence launched in 2021 will gradually be integrated into kDrive and Webmail to introduce features for intelligent file labeling, OCR text recognition in images and file content indexing. Other productivity features are also planned for kMail, such as programmable sending, the possibility of “snoozing” or recalling a message, the integration of a translation tool, the management of meeting rooms or even a function for sorting and organizing emails with labels. As for the Mail application, it should indeed arrive this year, first on iOS and then on Android.
Regarding kMeet, the free and unlimited videoconferencing solution, no big news is planned. The Swiss company will work to develop the service little by little while strengthening the reliability and quality of communications. For web hosting, we will have to wait until 2023 before seeing the arrival of new services, which will include new backup systems, test environments and staging and better security level management.
