The current vaccination statistics from the Ministry of Health do not make Salzburg appear in a good light. Almost nowhere in Austria is the willingness to vaccinate as low as in the Salzburger Land. The consequences, such as impending and already applicable exit restrictions, seem to have little convince the Salzburgers.
While the first Salzburg municipalities are already under quarantine again, the Salzburg residents are largely unimpressed by the harbingers of an epidemiologically exciting autumn. Compared to the other federal states, Salzburg is not in a particularly good position when it comes to vaccination readiness. Just 58.1 percent of Salzburg residents are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. In a nationwide comparison, only Upper Austria comes off worse with 56.9 percent. The eastern federal states are much further ahead – in Burgenland, for example, 69.3 percent of the population is already fully immunized. Above all, those communities where exit tests are now partly prescribed stand out with a low willingness to vaccinate.
In Tennengau, every second person is sometimes unvaccinated
In St. Koloman, where exit restrictions have been in place since Monday, just 40.5 percent of the population have been vaccinated twice. This is also the case in the communities of Krispl and Scheffau, where not even every second person has been immunized so far. In contrast, the communities in the Inner Mountains have the edge when it comes to vaccination. In Dienten, only a quarter of the population is still unvaccinated.
