In Bischofshofen – hot for a triple – but the big dream is called the World Cup

Bischofshofen is represented in the World Cup with three competitions in the Olympic winter. World champion Stefan Kraft is enthusiastic, Ski Club President Schützenhofer is even thinking of the really big coup.

This has never happened before on the Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze! In the coming Olympic winter, Bischofshofen will not only host the Four Hills Tournament final, but will also host two further World Cup competitions – a team event and an individual competition – immediately afterwards.

The center of the winter sports world
With Salzburg becoming the center of the winter sports world within a very short time, the night slalom in Flachau, two speed competitions in Altenmarkt / Zauchensee and the traditional Bad Gastein double for snowboarders (parallel slalom and team event) also take place in the state within a few days.

Kraft is enthusiastic
“When I heard that for the first time, I was really happy and threw up both hands,” said ski jumping world champion Stefan Kraft. The high-flyer is looking forward to his “home triple”. “That there is even a team competition – it’s unbelievable! I will really accelerate in the summer, ”he promises. At the same time, the Salzburg native is confident that he will then be able to sail down again in front of a brilliant crowd of fans. “The chances are good. Jumping in front of fans and the family would be the ultimate and really awesome! I’m so excited!”

30 years anniversary
But that should not be the end of it in Bischofshofen. Manfred Schützenhofer, who succeeded Johann Pichler as President of the Ski Club Bischofshofen, has a big dream. “Even if it is a long way off, we had a great World Cup in 1999 with Ramsau. We should look at 2029 and we could do another one for the 30th anniversary! “
