The submission of his candidacy comes when Fecafoot has been in crisis for several months. Seidou Mbombo Njoya had acceded to the post of president in 2018, but his election, contested by several players in Cameroonian football, was canceled in mid-January by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Despite everything, he remained in office, with the mission of working on the organization of a new election. This retention was badly received by a fringe of sports players, who then decided to appoint another president to Fecafoot. However, this did not benefit from the support of the authorities, or the African Football Confederation (CAF), or FIFA.
