Ontario’s Minister of Colleges and Universities has announced a major initiative to support the development of esports careers in Canada.
Canada’s most populous province, Ontario, will launch a vast program of promotion of sports. The local government has announced that it is developing a post-secondary scholarship program, one million dollars for two years with the aim of fostering the development of the esports industry.
According to the press release, this massive government investment will be used to “promote innovation and help students prepare for careers in the esports industry.” Students will be supported to enroll in a career related to design, development, marketing or innovation in the sector.

Canada has been considered for several years as one of the nations of video games, with the presence of numerous companies and subsidiaries of the industry.
