Faced with the pressures of these large units, the largest marine park in metropolitan France is experimenting with connected moorings to regulate attendance and preserve biodiversity.

VS’is a huge marine sanctuary of some 6,830 square kilometers that hugs the Cap Corse coastline. A vast protected area, forming the largest natural park in metropolitan France, stretching over 225 kilometers of shoreline, where rhodoliths rub shoulders with coralligenous atolls and Posidonia seagrass beds. The park is home to more than 100 square kilometers of these seagrass meadows, protected by a ministerial decree dated 1988, which play a key role in sequestering carbon to reduce the impact of climate change.
